About CarbMeNot
Our mission is to make low-carb and keto living effortless — accurate carb tracking without the tedious logging.
Our mission
Most people quit tracking their carbs within a week — not because they stop caring, but because logging every meal by hand is tedious and the numbers are hard to trust. CarbMeNot exists to fix that. We build tools that make low-carb and keto eating effortless: point your camera at a plate and our AI identifies the food and calculates net carbs, protein, and fat in seconds, so staying in your carb budget takes moments, not minutes.
How CarbMeNot works
CarbMeNot is a free iOS app built around AI photo logging. Snap a photo of your meal, scan a barcode, or search our database, and the app logs the carbs and macros and counts them against your daily target. Alongside the app, this website hosts a free nutrition database with net carbs, total carbs, and calories for thousands of common foods, plus a growing library of keto recipes and plain-language guides.
Our data & accuracy standards
Trustworthy numbers matter most when it comes to nutrition, so we're transparent about where ours come from:
- Sourced from public databases. Food data comes from the USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts (ODbL). Each food page cites its source.
- Net carbs computed consistently. We calculate net carbs as total carbohydrates minus fiber and sugar alcohols, and show the full breakdown so you can check the math.
- Reviewed for accuracy. Our nutrition content is reviewed by our nutrition team for accuracy and clarity, and every page shows when it was last updated.
- Estimates, not medical advice. Nutrition values are estimates and vary by brand and preparation. CarbMeNot is an educational tool, not a substitute for advice from a doctor or registered dietitian.
